About BloomHouse Studios
BloomHouse is a creative studio for children, centered around sensory play and process-based art and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
I’m the founder of BloomHouse, a mom of eleven, and a preschool teacher, born and raised in the Lowcountry of South Carolina before moving to Simpsonville in 2022. BloomHouse began from both my classroom experience and my life at home, where creativity, curiosity, and a whole lot of mess were part of our everyday rhythm.
After implementing sensory play and process art with my students and my own children—including some with sensory processing challenges—I saw just how powerful this kind of hands-on, creative experience is. But I also realized how difficult it can be to create space for it at home, and how little was available in our community for children to explore art freely in a meaningful, low-pressure way.
We offer art and sensory-based classes for babies through age 10, along with a gentle, two-day-a-week drop-off program called Preschool Studio. Our parent-and-child playgroups are intentionally designed to foster connection, giving families a chance to slow down, engage, and create together.
At BloomHouse, our space is calm, vibrant, and intentional. In a world filled with screens and constant noise, we believe it’s more important than ever to offer children opportunities to use their hands, imagination, and senses freely—creating, exploring, and experiencing the kind of childhood that nurtures creativity, confidence, and joy.
